High restricting is the way for me because slow and steady wins the race. As far as I'm concerned, as long as you end the day on a calorie deficit, you have won.

Height: 5 foot 7 / 171cms,
Highest Weight: 180 pounds / 82 kgs, (BMI 28.0)
Lowest Weight: 85 pounds / 39 kgs, (BMI 13.3)

ULTIMATE GOAL WEIGHT (again): 85 pounds / 39 kgs OR LOWER!!!

For reference, im 5'8, and I've been anywhere between 104 - 114 pounds basically all my life until covid hit . . . I ended up with a work from home job, and let's just say my love for chips plus sitting down all day landed me in a pickle. Ive always been the type to have really good appetite control and used to lead a pretty active lifestyle, never binging. That all changed in just one year. I binged like crazy, with no excercise. My highest weight was 138 pounds about 35 days ago, but since I started medium restricting at 600-900 calories a day, and doing 30 minutes of walking and 30 minutes of riding my bike daily, ive already lost 9 pounds. Hit 129 this morning. I also like that at around 750 - 900, I dont feel woozy, but at the same time, im restricting enough that i don't hit the dreaded 1,000 lol I have intense and irrational fears that if I eat over that amount, I won't really be loosing weight :/ I also have started swimming, and will be incorporating that into my routine to speed things up a bit!

I hope this isn't a bad question, but what kind/how much exercise were you doing when you did high restriction + exercise?

No problem (:

In the gym I at least spend minimal 1.5hours everyday, sometimes more. I do an hour of running and 30mins I do a lot of interval toning and weight lifting. Outside of the gym I have

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: musical theatre rehearsals (very dance based)

Wednesday: advanced jazz and contemporary rehearsal 

Friday: figure skating

Saturday: ballet

Sunday: either horse riding or golf or tennis

PLEASE!! THIS IS MY PERSONAL PLEA: DON’T SAY THINGS LIKE β€œif your BMI is true you need to be hospitalised” or β€œif your signature is still accurate...” because A. yes? It’s still accurate? It says updated on JUNE 2021, which is like...literally what today is B. why would you think it’s not true? Why do I need to lie on an anonymous site? It’s exactly because I can’t talk about my ED IRL so I have to go online... I’m already struggling & hurting so much, just like how you are too. Imagine you having no support whatsoever, go online to find an outlet, only being questioned for your credibility about your stats and posts, how would you feel? C. yes it might seem low but my highest ever BMI was around 17, I’m premature and have multiple medical conditions that made me weight less/can’t eat much even prior my ED. So yea, 13 is not that bad compare to someone who got here from a much higher HW.

It depends . If im trying to lose for a specific date/event, i low restrict. Under 350cal/day. But usually im mEdium restricting - 600-700 cal.
My TDEE is 1450 though :/

i do medium, but i adjust it accordingly. i just hit a new low weight, so i'm going higher in order to maintain a bit more, about 800-1k a day.

When I eat 2000 I dont gain.. when I eat 1200 I maintain ?????? And I only lose below 700 :/

Low restriction. I'm terribly afraid of eating over 500 calories. I've always been this way throughout my entire disorder. For the longest time I ate no more than 350 but thankfully managed to increase that.

Don't get me wrong, I've tried to restrict a bit higher, under 1000 but.. irrational fears just made that painful. I'm an anxious mess if I eat that much. I'm definitely trying to up my intake though. I'm trying to convince myself to add a couple calories after an appointment next week... We will see.

maybe medium? I try to maintain a deficit of at least 1,000 calories, but because my TDEE usually ends up around 1,900 I eat around 800 calories a day when I'm not binging.

for me i usually do like 700-800 and consider that high but for the past week or so i've been doing like under 200 and for some reason i feel completely fine. i know it wont last tho

low i thi, i find that i generally settle around 500-600 even when i let myself go to 900-1000. But i don’t want to eventually try and increase it since i feel really tired most of the time and work is very draining

I prefer around 600-800 because I still lose fast but I don’t feel like I’m dying

obviously low is best for rapid weight loss, high for sustainable weight loss

low restriction was super effective for weightloss but it was never sustainable and high restriction has worked for me in the long run

Mid to high, 700-900, sometimes 600 sometimes 1000. I can't do low restriction because it only makes me feel more miserable and doesn't make me lose more weight than usual.

bruh i dont even know anymore i’m so inconsistent. all of the above? used to consistently low restrict till dumb fuck me decided to start fasting for stupid amounts of time, then shoved into recovery and spent a month maintaining (high restriction, fasting and binging) but now i wanna die so i’ve been low restricting (0-50cal) for the past few days which is dumb because ik i’ll just binge and fast again

I’ve been cycling between low and high. Just whatever feels easier. I want to stick to low this week (for me that’s 500). I’m afraid of my hair falling out though…
