don’t you mean mannitol? the sweetener in sugar free gum

Mannitol and maltitol are both sugar free sweeteners.

This is basically what I eat (with the muller light actually being the sprinkle selection one and the apple tart is actually an almond and pear tart which I always cut and weigh out) 2fad49d0e08d812e4f21001133466e85.jpg

Can you tell us what you have on a standard day?

As someone said, it might be the types of foods.

Sorry yeah it’s up

Everyone works differently and I have also been in this position where the rules didn’t seem to apply and it really messed with my head. I’ve heard a lot of success stories re low carb high protein/fat, it works for a lot of people, unfortunately it let me into a mega binge as my body just couldn’t cope but it’s absolutely worth giving it a go- if you can make it work it helps your body to burn fat differently. I used to think exercise was a bit of a waste of time but when I stopped for a week I really felt it so although it might not directly make you lose weight, I do think it supports diet and helps your body’s chemistry/metabolism, but I’ve heard others swear by it as a fat burner. I wish there were concrete rules but I guess it’s just trial and error until we find the optimum formula for our own body- not an easy process!

It’s just annoying cause I haven’t changed anything in fact ending up having less and gaining

Umm. I can't say for sure what is going on.

Those things look low in Protein, this can cause fluid retention. I have to have a hell of a lot of Protein or else my body will retain fluid big time. Like, kilos of it. So I'm at around 130-150g a day. But that's me and it's a result of being severely deficient in Protein for many many years. Maybe see your GP for a blood test to test your Protein levels. If this is the issue, at least you will know to switch up your intake for more high protein foods. Easier said than done I know. I really really know.

Also drink water. How much are you drinking? I'd you don't drink enough, fluid will stay in your cells and just keep increasing to a point.

I have no idea of the sodium in those foods but too little or too much can cause fluid retention.

Now if you have gained fat....well I just don't see how that's possible so for now I'll stick to it being fluid weight.

"Now you see, the world is full of temptations. They are wrong things that seem right at the time" - Jiminy Cricket in Pinocchio.

High restricting is the way for me because slow and steady wins the race. As far as I'm concerned, as long as you end the day on a calorie deficit, you have won.

Height: 5 foot 7 / 171cms,
Highest Weight: 180 pounds / 82 kgs, (BMI 28.0)
Lowest Weight: 85 pounds / 39 kgs, (BMI 13.3)

ULTIMATE GOAL WEIGHT (again): 85 pounds / 39 kgs OR LOWER!!!

I feel you OP. And here people thought I was lying when I said that it happened to me. For me it’s all about the composition of the food. I have to basically eat pure protein in order to lose. Carbs will make me gain immediately even at levels much less than 1000 but I can probably eat more than 1000 cal in protein and be fine even if there is some fat-I typically don’t want to eat that much though LOL so not really sure. Try cutting out the carbohydrates completely. All carbs including fruit so that your blood sugar will stabilize and your hunger will go down. If you have already illuminated carbs try cutting back on fat. This is almost 100% guaranteed to work-And on top of that you will feel better. By doing it that’s why I have no symptoms or side effects from restriction. I would also make sure you are doing your own investigation on the accuracy of nutrition labels and regards to calories and especially carbs because it could be that you were counting absolutely correctly but you happen to eat a lot of food that tend to be super wrong on the nutrition label

Sorry fam but this is dangerous as fuck without knowing OPs medical history, current intake, exercise levels, and hormone situation.

Depending on the person, doing something like carnivore can be great, or it can be extremely damaging.

for example, if OP suffers from low blood sugar, cutting all carbs could result in severe hypoglycemia symptoms and side effects while their body adjusts - and even at that, glucogenesis and ketones still may not give the body what it needs. Pair that with severe restriction and we have a double disaster.

OP - if you can give us an example of what you eat in the day, we may be able to help you make switches- I am a fan of a high fat, high protein macro split, but I also support fruit and rice and sweet potatos as a carb source.

It might be as easy as switching a ready meal for some home cooked unprocessed food. Let's see a sample of your day.

Okay I see your intake - definitely could be making way better use of your calories. If you give me a few hours I can look into some swaps and recipies that will give your body more useable nutrition.

I know some time back they told me to be careful with protein as with such a small mass it was too much
