I have a big date next week. Fasting needs to happen so I'm less embarrassed by myself.

 

Starting 12 am 9/2/21

Ending at 12 pm 9/4 3/21

60 hours I made it 40 hours

 

Height: 5'6"

Starting Weight: 151.2 about 1/2 lb of that is food

Starting Waist: 27 1/2"

Ending Weight: 149.4 some of that is food because I broke fast at 40 hours and weighed in next day but I got to take off my bra extender!!!!

Ending Waist: 27" easy no messing with the measuring tape

Conclusion: I suck at fasts longer than one day but I love the results. I had an upset stomach after the fast and I'm not sure if it was the fasting, the scrambled eggs, the diet ginger ale, or my health issues. I won't be doing this again any time soon because I have to prep for permanent hair removal and hair removal recovery which needs a healthy diet (and super good hydration) or else it won't heal properly and scar, but I'm not against occasional 1-day fasts in the future, maybe a fast like this one if I really want to.

 

I'm gonna keep updating about my day to hold myself accountable. Water and tea are acceptable. I'm planning no vitamins but I might do vitamins anyways because I have unrelated hair loss issues already and I'm not trying to make them worse. If I get too dizzy broth is okay but I'm going to try to avoid it as long as possible. The goal is to take it easy and maybe be somewhat productive but mostly to lose the weight.

I have to deal with phone calls today and I do not want to deal with phone calls today. I did a 1/2 mile walk on difficult (for me) terrain and I may or may not do more this evening on normal ground. I don't want to give myself The Hungries or pass out but I really enjoy walking and it helps with my mental health so idk.

Feeling shaky but that's normal in a fast for me plus I'm not starting on great conditions. Lots more water. Did some productive stuff. Now I'm planning out diet for the week plus hair removal planning because I need to lose weight for the date but I can't be too harsh or I'll make hair removal skin recovery more challenging.

Having another mug of tea. I forgot it was in the teapot so it's cold and extra strong but yummy. I'm not having any caffeine so it's not bitter tea.

I managed to add another mile to my walking for 1.5 miles today! It's dark now so I won't be doing any more. I forgot how nice doing a mile on a fast feels. It's so easy, it's like my body is lighter to carry without dinner food weight. I haven't done that since I was in a much worse place several years ago and it's kinda a nice feeling with less doom and despair mixed in. Felt a little dizzy going up the hill, but that's not surprising. I made sure to stretch when I got back.

 

Now I'm having 5cal pink lemonade mix in my water!

I'm having a pinch of Himalayan salt because I heard that helps with dizziness. I used to be a salt fiend but I did cooking for someone on a low-salt diet and never got back in the habit of re-salting everything while cooking because maybe it's healthier idk? But I still over-salt certain foods at the table so I'm not convinced it helps too much. idk.

So there's this part of the hand, the "anatomical snuffbox" that I use to gauge my weight/fat/bloat improvements and failures. Here's an image that is not me:

That dip part there outlined in red is what I am talking about. It is UNFORGIVING. On me, it only shows at lower BMIs/less fat.

 

Right now, mine doesn't show up when my hand is just resting, though the ligaments add contour to the shape of the hand. But it is showing up more than previously when I flex my hand! At lower weights, it's visible when my hand is just sitting there and I can't wait because it makes my hands look much more elegant.

I managed to do another mile this morning. It was a lot tougher than yesterday. On the return, I was not walking too well. Dizzy. I actually haven't done a fast this long before. It has always been 1 day only. I'm trying some decaf chai turmeric tea, hope it's tasty!
