My appetite is always at its lowest during summer so that’s when I lose the most amount of weight. The colder it gets tho, the harder it is for me to resist food. What’s y’alls experience?

Opposite for me. :) I think it's just that I'm happier in the summer, so I'm more inclined to eat more. Aside from the obvious reasons for restricting that is having a mental health disorder, I also like the "aesthetic" of being small and cold in the winter. It makes me feel cosier and in my experience it makes people want to look after you more (why am I like this).

We took a walk that night, but it wasn't the same
We had a fight on the promenade out in the rain
She said she loved me, but she had somewhere to go

She couldn't scream while I held her close
I swore I'd never let her go

I usually lose the same either way, for me its the mind frame i guess. If im in it i lose, but if i go off track sometimes it takes longer than others to get back on track. Stress and trauma make it easier for me, its just kind of automatic. I just do it without thinking about it. Its just easier to hide in the winter because i can cover up.

Cold weather makes it easy for me to restrict, I think its because warm foods like soup and oatmeal are low calorie and filling. Plus exercise helps me warm up. Also I love cold weather fashion, you can look cute and be super comfortable and hide weight loss. Its just a perfect storm of ED motivators.

That and the end of the year is coming, the thought of reaching my UGW by New Years is super motivating.

not necessarily my ED but my depression becomes worse when it gets colder and darker, and that greatly contributes to my ED of course... it’s like a Dementor sucking the life out of me

I feel like I eat more in summer than winter, because I'm too hot in the summer to fill up on nice warm soups and teas like I would in the winter.

I've always lost weight I the winter. I just feel sleepy and cold and don't move much so it's easier to ignore my appetite for food. Also the "thin, blue finger, red tipped nose, tiny & delicate winter aesthetic" is a bit of a motivating factor..

Not the seasons in themselves, but polar nights fuck up my sleep schedule, and poor sleep leads to binging, so yeah... Summer is great because I can't stand the heat so I lose my appetite.

Not a season necessarily, but I was raised Catholic, and I always relapsed during Lent until I finally left the church. Something about using religious reasons to decline food gave me such a power trip.

That’s really investing actually, I’ve never heard about religion in that context. Those religions where fasting is involved I can sort of understand because they allow them to go on an empty stomach whithout being questioned about it

absolutely. it's easier for me to restrict when it's cold because cold (the sensation) distracts me from hunger.

This is always the time of year I relapse, its insane. In Summer I am usually at my highest and healthiest weight, in Winter and Autumn my depression gets worse and so does my weight, slipping down and its a big challenge to find the motivation to do recovery

Not specifically, the only thing I have a hard time with is struggling with the cold. For the past month i’ve already been freezing all the time (even in 100+ degree weather) so now that it’s getting colder i’m having even more of a hard time.

In summer I tend to drink more alcohol, which makes it easier for m to eat. That's when I gain weight. In winter (& unfortunately around christmas), I become very strict and usually am at my lowest by february and march. It really ruins my christmas because i'll sneak half of my delicious breakfast in my sleeves and puke the other half.
