She's currently recovering from anorexia but I feel like she's still pretty disordered..... she eats the same things everyday and most of it would be things that are healthy or near-healthy. Not to mention low calorie stuff too like her greek yogurt + apple which is like 150 calories max.

Anybody have any thoughts?

I don't mean to drag her but I think she is still very much in a disordered mindset with the "fantasy" of recovery in mind. I wish she could challenge herself a bit more tbh.

You gotta start somewhere, and not everyone’s starting point is the same. Deciding to recover doesn’t mean you get rid of behaviors and symptoms the next day. Of course she still has a very disordered mindset, since she isn’t actually recovered yet. She decided to recover, but it’s a process. If you watch her videos you can see that she’s already challenging herself a lot, even if the foods she’s eating are considered healthy. I don’t think we shouldn’t judge anyones recovery or eating disorder, as we haven’t experienced exactly what they’ve experienced, and we haven’t gone through the same processes.

That's true. I sound like an asshole for the way I worded it, I guess it's because I didn't recognize that different people have different behaviors and challenges. I'm also going through recovery atm and I try to look for recovery posts just to inspire me. In a way, I sorta wish I had her way of recovering because I still very much want to settle back into anorexia. Idk, just my own personal struggle. Didn't mean to invalidate her recovery, just naively comparing hers to my own.

I don’t follow her anymore (unfollowed bc she was too triggering lol) but most “recovery” accounts are really just in a state of “quasi-recovery” so tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what she’s doing. I don’t think it’s healthy to be obsessively posting everything you eat & spending all your time on social media fixating on your ED when a bit part of recovery is working on creating your life outside of that. Ofc there are some people who do seem to be genuinely recovering & balancing their ED account with life stuff, but I suspect the vast majority are just using social media as a way to hold onto their ED / flaunt how sick they are

She is under an ED team and so on so I’m sure she is on a meal plan but I think she will be admitted soon. It’s a lot for her and her parents to cope with I think and she needs specialist support.
I don’t follow her anymore as I do find her triggering, where as Ro (who posts on YouTube) came across differently. Her and her family are so lovely and watching her recovery process has been really inspiring.

the thing is even under an ED team as she is refeeding at such a low weight she should be having way more milk/ calcium than she is.... like the euivalent of a 800ml-a litre today of at least semi skimmed milk (or a yogurt equivalent

I went back through some of her posts late last year and she went from thin to deathly emaciated and in the hospital in the span of a month. It was a reminder of how ruthless this illness can be.

I messaged her about body checking and finding it triggering and she started trying to guilt me by going on about how she felt awful and I had made her feel worse.

if this is 'recovery' I'd hate to see what people think living with anorexia looks like.

Honestly Niamh got literally bullied on the app for body checking/ some other accounts (not as much) got called out also, I thought Fiona does in a lot of her videos and couldn’t tel if it was me just triggered or if she does but the full body mirror poses before filming herself eating seem a bit?
No hate to her, as I understand how hard her position rn can be and she’s actively trying to recover which is great (or at least I think so?) but I just find her too triggering.
Not her fault obviously, I just get stupidly triggered stupidly easily, because when I was in a similar position and followed my meal plan I gained weekly and the ED part of me is jealous she gets to stay at such a low BMI for so so long despite “following” a meal plan?
I think some ED accounts unintentionally “show off” how ill they are, and their eating disorders thrive from the validation.
Again though, my personal trigger and that’s my problem/ not her fault, I’m glad she seems committed for recovery, I’m just not understanding the risk of hospitalisation if she’s supposedly following her meal plan and gaining weekly (which would happen from a meal plan)
Edit: I do get the risk of hospital, as she’s clearly at a low BMI, just if she was medically stabilised in hospital they try give u the chance to gain weight in the community/ at home which she obviously chose to “recover” at home under supervision, if ur making progress and regularly gaining and want to do so at home (guaranteed ur medically stable to) they won’t then force you back into hospital unless u refuse to gain/ or loosing weight

yeah i'm going to be a 100% honest rn and a bit mean and say she shouldn't be sharing her recovery across insta and tiktok, she films almost everytime she eats breakfasts, lunches or snacks

It's not just her obviously, there are countless 'reCovERy' accounts out there doing the same thing, but she's probably the most extreme and most damaging example

I think this phenomenon of people plastering their eds across the internet outside sites like these where anyone can come across the content is frankly disgusting because they do it solely for validation and to cling desperately to their disorder whether they know it or not, they may think it helps them cope but it doubtlessly hinders your recovery

Obviously i can't judge or blame someone for needing validation and clinging to their ed (i'm clinging to mine too to cope ) but never in a million years would I film my sick body and/or disordered behaviors and post them to the public internet because I'm not an idiot and I don't want to harm others

anyway sorry for the rant those are my thoughts on FiindingFi /Fiona and people like her, you can disagree obviously but I stand by my opinion on this even if it's harsh, it's a necessary truth, these people don't need to be coddled like babies, plenty of us recover without sharing every disordered struggle with social media

Lol I hate ED social media, people are twats & they know they’re being twats but just want attention from thousands of vulnerable individuals. It’s sickening.

ED/MH tiktok is horrendous 😩
I really hate it, it drives me nuts and Fi is definitely doing this under the guise of it’s her ‘accountability’ and so on. She is very triggering (coming from someone who very rarely gets triggered by anything).
The only ED recovery person I have enjoyed watching is a girl called Ro Recovering (I think 😬) on YouTube who would do weekly challenges for all in recovery. She has a lovely family and a super cute cockerpoo and I’ve really enjoyed watching her over the past year.

I do think Fi will be in hospital very soon. I don’t think she is following her meal plan, she has been refeeding for over 3 months now and somethings just not right there. I would have thought she would have gained a lot more than she has. She needs a specialist ward again I think 😕

I don’t know her personally but her feed seems to be all the same, body checks and “oh I’m struggling so much!!” Every post. I lack respect for anyone that uses the edsheeranrecovery hash tag too just because if someone was using my name related to get more followers or whatever I’d be really annoyed.
I hope she gets well and changes her account to life and having fun.

Did a little Google search and read a thread which said she is quite an awful person if she doesn’t have attention and her sister also has anorexia and couldn’t go home over Christmas because Fi is too triggering and not good for her recovery. She has been in and out of treatment for the last 11 years.
