Just Ignore Him by QI’s Alan Davies. Very readable but a trigger warning for childhood sexual abuse xx

Are you someone who is able to give up on a book and read a different one, or are you like me where you feel like you have to finish it now you've started?

definitely like you, I'm too stubborn to stop once I've started no matter how bad it is haha, especially if I've bought the book. I'm driven by this thought of "okay but MAYBE if I just get through this part it'll get good" because the idea of missing out on some big revelation or turn bugs me lol.

Trying to make my way through Alan Hollinghurst's "The line of beauty" but omg ... almost every sentence is some farfetched simile and I'm having a hard time visualizing everything he's describing.

I just started "The Midnight Library" - Matt Haig.

Audible - I forgot to cancel the free trail and I'm actually glad I did now.

It is definitely triggering especially to start with but I'm not in a happy mood anyway so it sort of just echoed what I was feeling.

I've not finished yet but think I'm going to love it.

The way he writes he makes you feel the depression and at the same time he punctures it with well actually that's probably not the reality.

The storyline is just a genius way to depict depression. It makes you feel seen like your not the only one experiencing things that way. It also has a lil music theme running through it which I'm a sucker for.

Chase the rainbow - Poorna bell. About a man who died by suicide written by his wife. Good so far. Obviously contains upsetting material.

I’m currently reading Yolk by Mary HK Choi. I adored both of Mary’s previous books and I knew I had to read the new one the minute I saw the gorgeous cover. It deals with EDs and cancer, topics that hit close to home, so it’s kind of a cathartic read. Mary has revealed in interviews she herself had an ED so I trust the representation will be good.

I’m also reading These are my Heroes by Robert Leckie. It’s an old book about Catholic saints, which is a topic I find super interesting. Also Leckie’s prose is magnificent.

I just bought Behave by Robert Sapolsky.

I've only read the introduction and it was a bit of a struggle, don't know why? It's a bit too academic for me at the moment reminds me of a science textbook, memories of failing final year Chemistry.

It's an interesting idea though like how little do most of us understand about ourselves and why we behave the way we do.
