This looks very interesting. Right now I am on a apple and black coffee only diet, today is day 1. I might try this after!

Think I'll try this first then the ABC diet.
I used to have an incredibly strict diet for a year, then Mia took hold and I'm desperately trying to break the cycle :(

I think this is good, a little more extreme than 1200 calories.

However, I definitely don't agree with fruits and vegetables being free. Weight Watchers has that rule too and it's a big reason why I didn't trust that program when I tried it.

Fruits and veggies still have calories, especially fruit, and lots of sugar. It's like eating a chocolate bar. I mean, two bananas would literally be 214 calories and 48g carbs/sugar.

For that reason I still count fruits+veggies and don't do a net calorie count - I only use this because it is easier to hide from parents and can be modified if I have the chance for a lower cal day.

I completely agree about fruits and veg not being free, but I completely disagree about comparing bananas to chocolate bars. The sugar in fruit is completely different from the sugar in a chocolate bar, and is processed differently. Where white sugar can be argued as poison to the blood, naturally occurring sugar in things like fruit (and honey), are much better for your body because it helps with insulin spikes and many other bodily functions - and that doesn't include the water, minerals, fiber, and phytonutrients present in fruit that aren't in candy.

Of course you shouldn't eat a million fruits per day, but neither should you run away screaming from them.

Am posting back here after my first week of the HSGD. I believe I was 130/131 when I started and I'm now about 127. Haven't gone over except by about a hundred the first day. I'm considering lowering the daily counts by two hundred to limit myself further, but onward to week two! Hope fully a few more pounds will drop.

I'm gonna try this the best I can. I do have my birthday coming NeXT weekend so I'm taking two days free. Also I don't know if I'm going to get hospitalized with my diabetes. We'll see (:

Ya, I have mixed reviews about fruit intake overall actually. Either way, I'm counting absolutely everything that goes in my body to be on the safe side!

CHECK-IN: I've lost 7.4 lbs or 3.3Kgs.

This past weekend I had to attend a baby shower, and 2 dinners - no excuses but that definetly made me gain 2 lbs practically :(

I'm happy with my results though!

I'm contemplating starting this one with a few modifications~!

I love the idea of not including veggies in the calorie count because 1) it encourages you to eat more veggies than anything else and 2) it's SO much easier!  I tend to prepare masses of salad in one go so I have a meal on hand whenever food time comes around, and it becomes really difficult to work out exactly how much lettuce or cucumber I've put on my plate.

However, I think fruits and starchy vegetables should be counted into the daily calorie allowance as they're so much higher calorie and it would be so easy to gain on unlimited sweet potato!

I also don't see the point of allowing yourself more food for exercise when the daily calorie intake is already this high.  Plus 30mins of exercise 3x a week is pretty much nothing.

I'm currently trying to burn off a minimum of 500kcals through cardio, plus daily situps and squats, then conditioning 4x a week.

I also wonder if the really tiny differences in calorie intake would make much of a difference in terms of calorie cycling so may tweak them a little to get a greater variety.

Starting today even though it's not Monday, then on Monday will return to the start of the plan and follow it through~! :)

I am used to restricting, but now I eat anywhere from 800-1400 a day, and when I gain, I restrict until I go back down. Beecause of my messed up metabolism, do you think this will work for me?!

Stuck to the plan perfectly today but just binged on masses of salad at 1:30am. x_x

I think my body was just screaming for food after the hard workout I did at the gym today, which in a way proves to me that I need to be pushing myself that hard every time.

I'm thankful it was just salad though and that, by this plan's rules, I still stuck to my calorie limits for the day but.... I can't help but feel like I've eaten like a pig and failed miserably.

It's definitely going to take some effort to convince my brain that vegetables are not the enemy when counting calories!

Well done on the loss HolyChic~!

I definitely need to start this diet! Any idea what to do/how to work off calories if you go over?

I'm starting this one on Monday to get back into the swing of restriction.
I'll be counting fruits an veggies into the calorie allowance and exercising at least 30 mins per day, so hopefully I'll see some decent results.  Fingers crossed!

CHECK-IN: I've done almost 2 weeks of HSG, and my results have been awesome.

I've lost 11.8 pounds! ^_^ I'm just chuffed. AND I've got some water retention thanks to my period, so once that settles out, my two week weigh-in is gonna be sweet.

This diet really can give great results, for many reasons. I would encourage people who are stuck to give it a try. I tend to really push my low calorie days and try to work out those days to give myself a greater deficit, and I workout 4-5 times a week - and the results show. My pants are getting loose.
